An administrative medical assistant (AMA) is a healthcare professional who performs non-clinical tasks in a medical office or clinic.  

A clinical medical assistant is an allied healthcare professional who performs direct patient care and assists medical providers with clinical procedures, in addition to administrative duties. They are trained to take vital signs, record patient histories, draw blood, give injections, apply wound dressings, and prepare patients for exams, all under the supervision of doctors and nurses.  

The process of translating patient diagnoses, symptoms, and treatments into universal alphanumeric codes and then submitting these codes on insurance claims to ensure healthcare providers are properly reimbursed for services rendered. Medical coding involves creating the codes by reviewing patient documentation, while medical billing involves the preparation, submission, and follow-up of those claims to insurance companies and patients for payment.  

A phlebotomy technician, also called a phlebotomist, is a healthcare professional trained to collect blood samples from patients for various medical purposes, including diagnostic tests, research, transfusions, and blood donations.  

An electrocardiogram (EKG) technician is a healthcare professional who specializes in performing electrocardiograms (ECGs). They use specialized equipment to measure and record the electrical activity of the heart. This information helps doctors diagnose and monitor cardiovascular conditions, such as heart rhythm disorders, heart attacks, and other heart problems.

A pharmacy technician is a healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist in the preparation, dispensing, and administration of medications 

Massage therapy is a healthcare service that involves the manipulation of soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, and ligaments, for therapeutic purposes. In the state of Georgia, a minimum of 600 hours of education is required to qualify for the EMBLEX state board exam. Our program provides 1,200 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on learning, ensuring that our students excel at every level and become licensed massage therapists.

Stretch therapy can be categorized within the broader fields of rehabilitative and wellness care. It is not a single licensed medical profession but is instead performed by a variety of practitioners for different purposes.  

A doula is a non-medical, community-based professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a birthing person and their family before, during, and after childbirth. While doulas are an integral part of the maternity care team, they do not perform clinical or medical tasks; their role is to offer support, help clients navigate the birthing process, and advocate for their needs and wishes within the medical environment.
